Do you know Lenore, the cute little dead girl ? I hope you do.
From Wikipedia :
Lenore, "the Cute Little Dead Girl" is a fictional character created by Roman Dirge, inspired by the poem Lenore, by Edgar Allan Poe. The comic primarily tells of the adventures of the title character, Lenore, and her variety of friends. The primary focus of the comic is black humor, with many of the stories having amusing twist endings. Common themes are the reinvention of children's songs, games, and nursery rhymes to something more macabre, and subverting all sorts of pop culture icons and cultural figures in to topics of dark comedy. In one story, for instance, Lenore accidentally kills the Easter Bunny. While Lenore's actions often result in the death or injury to those around her, and in various forms of chaos, she is not a malicious character, and often thinks she is doing good. Lenore is not the sole focus of the comic, with many stories featuring one-time characters (One of these characters, Samurai Sloth, is set to star in his own series in 2006). Also featured are humorous, semi autobiographical accounts of events that happened to creator Roman Dirge, titled "Things Involving Me."
The comic has little overall continuity or sense of time. The comic was drawn in black and white, with some computer effects for shading. The Lenore series is currently at issue 12. The first 12 issues are collected in three graphic novels- 'Noogies', 'Wedgies', and 'Cooties'.
Lenore is also featured in the new comic book The Haunted Mansion, a comic book based on the popular Disneyworld Attraction.
Creator Roman Dirge is currently running Lenore comic strips on his LiveJournal community 'Lenore Comics'.
I really love it. It's funny, sarcastic, gothic and trash, and Lenore is absolutely funny. I must confess it's simply my favourite comics.

HAHAHAHA! Ewwww! Will have to work my way through those when I have time. I've never seen Lenore before.
I am a huge fan of Foamy the squirrel, though.

I have 10 of the 12 issues of the Lenore comics. Didn't even realize they were being offered in compilations now. Must get, since my copies are raggedy at best. I always found them adorably amusing in their own dark way. |

Wow! I completely forgot about Lenore! My older sister told me about her awhile back...but I never got around to checking the site out.
Foamy is pretty funny himself. I haven't checked that site out in awhile! I like the rants... |
